Championing Sustainability and Food Security at the Afro World Agri Food International Conference 2025

On the 21st of July 2025, the Executive Director of ASPIRES Tanzania, Prof. David Nyange, joined a distinguished panel on Sustainability and Food Security during the Afro World Agri Food International Conference at the Diamond Jubilee Hall, Dar-es-Salaam.

The conference, inaugurated by Ambassador and Director of International Trade and Economic Diplomacy, Mr. John Ulanga, serves as a unique platform to rethink the future of Agri-food amid complex and evolving challenges. It pays special focus on the changing landscape of grains, pulses, oilseeds, edible oil, rice, cashew, coffee, cocoa, dry fruits, spices, sugar, beverages, and cotton sectors that are central to Tanzania’s export goals.

During his remarks, Prof. Nyange underscored Tanzania’s Development Vision 2050, which positions the country to become a leading African regional food exporter, highlighting strategies such as boosting productivity, strengthening trade infrastructure, and driving private sector partnerships.
