ASPIRES Tanzania Honoured for Research Shaping the Future of Soybean Farming

ASPIRES Tanzania has been recognised for its impactful policy and research work in delivering the Baseline Report of the Tanzanian Soybean Sub-Sector.

This recognition from the Tanzania Sustainable Soybean Initiative (TSSI) reflects a shared commitment to evidence-based reforms that drive agricultural transformation and improve farmer livelihoods across Tanzania.

As part of this effort, ASPIRES Tanzania surveyed over 1,200 soybean farmers across 7 regions and 18 districts, identifying practical policy and program recommendations to help farmers access high-quality seeds, increase productivity, and boost incomes.

This work was made possible through strong collaboration with key partners, including Agricultural Growth Corridors of Tanzania (AGCOT), International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), Farm to Market Alliance (FtMA), and the Norwegian Embassy.

The Tanzania Sustainable Soybean Initiative (TSSI), launched in early 2023, continues to champion soybean farming, focusing on six key soybean-producing regions: Iringa, Mbeya, Ruvuma, Rukwa, Njombe, and Morogoro.

ASPIRES Tanzania remains committed to working alongside stakeholders to strengthen Tanzania’s soybean sub-sector and create lasting, positive impact for farmers.
