Dr. Hussein Nassoro lectures at the Faculty of Economics and Management Sciences at The Institute of Finance Management.  He brings over 20 years of experience in development, environmental and agricultural economics. Dr. Hussein has been an instrumental member and founding leader of various agriculture initiatives within the Tanzanian sector, with his stand-out innovation being the Tanzania Organic Agriculture Movement.

He has worked on several consultancies with multinational corporations and national institutions, including the USAID, World Bank, UNDP, FAO, UNICEF, WFP, World Bank, and the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA). He has also worked for Michigan State University (MSU) on several research projects.

His research has focused on intra-household private income transfer and its impact on poverty; assessing the level of competition in different sub-sectors, water policy incidence analysis, undertaking baseline evaluation, impact evaluation, diversification of livelihoods platforms for rural households, and its consequences.

Dr. Hussein holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Dar es Salaam and earned his Masters in Agricultural Economics from the Sokoine University of Agriculture.
